Día de los Muertos @ the Cubs
29th October 2018
On Monday 29th October our Cub Pack explored the Mexican ‘Day of the Dead’ Festival, Día de los Muertos. With the help of some parent volunteers the young people made skull masks, designed their own skull decorations, made marigold flowers out of paper napkins and decorated biscuits. They then used these items to create an ‘Ofrenda’ or ‘offering’ to honour and remember Lord Baden-Powell, the father of Scouting who died on 8 January 1941. We also learned the Mexican Scout promise and played the traditional Mexican game of Steal the Sombrero!
